TheAromaofBooks
Moby Dick: bl velryba | Melville Herman
post image

I suppose I should post my #BookSpinBingo list!! I really want to read Moby Dick this month. I think the buddy read @Clwojick is hosting will be the nudge I need, but I am giving myself the added incentive of allowing this rather dense classic to take over five of my bingo slots!!

Reminder - if I have not COMMENTED on your list, I probably didn't see it, so please tag me again so I can make sure everyone is on the list to be tagged with the ⬇️

TheAromaofBooks (cont'd) winning numbers on Monday!! 3y
CoffeeNBooks I like the idea of splitting a big book up like that! I look forward to joining #bookspinbingo again in December when I might have a little more time to read. 3y
Clwojick 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻Great idea! 🐋🐋 3y

TheAromaofBooks @CoffeeNBooks - I will keep you on the tag list for December!! Someone else had split up a book for more than one square & I realized that was the perfect way to try & inspire myself to actually finish Moby Dick, since I've started it a few times haha 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Clwojick - Now I just need my copy to get here!! I spaced & didn't order it early enough!!! 3y
ElizaMarie I have hard great things about Moby Dick 3y
Sargar114 What a great idea! My 4 year olds are randomly fascinated with Moby Dick (the abridged kids version). So that‘s the only version I‘ve read (multiple times), but even that one is really good! Good luck!!! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @ElizaMarie - I've started it a few times & haven't been able to get into it. This is the time I'm going to conquer it!! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Sargar114 - I'm trying to read at least a few classics a year, so we will see if I can get through this one this month!!! 3y
ElizaMarie @TheAromaofBooks yay! I know you can do it! 3y
llwheeler I didn't make a new list, just replaced the 2 titles that were picked in Oct. Looking forward to November's numbers! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @llwheeler - Sounds good!!! 3y
Bigcountry15 Not a bad idea to break up the reading of Moby Dick. It is great, but suffers from some of the same tedious detail of other great works of the time. 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Bigcountry15 - I'm hoping the chunks + buddy read will keep me reading. I sometimes struggle to get “into“ older classics, but generally enjoy them when I do! 3y
Yuki_Onna @TheAromaofBooks Dear, I'm going to take a break from #Bookspin in November. I feel I have burned myelf out a bit in October and I have a lot of work to do and hardly any time left for reading this month. However, I plan on joining back in in December, so please tag me for December! 3y
silentrequiem My thing friend read Moby Dick for a book report when she was 13/14. She ended up putting a twenty dollar bill at the end of the book as incentive to finish. 3y
TheAromaofBooks @Yuki_Onna - Sounds good!!! It's only a fun challenge if it's relaxing, not when it's stressful!!! I'll keep you on the list for December - good luck getting everything done that you need to this month!! 3y
TheAromaofBooks @silentrequiem - That's actually a fabulous idea! 😂 3y
wordslinger42 I applaud you for reading Moby Dick! I got about 14 pages in when I was in college and just couldn't do it. It's since made it onto my list of books I will never read 😂😂 3y
TheAromaofBooks @wordslinger42 - haha well don't applaud me until I actually read it - I'm not confident I'll make it through!!! 😂 3y
