If you thought even for a fleeting second this world is not as it seems, you are absolutely right. The only reason you aren’t aware that supernaturals walk among us every day, is because a powerful and shadowy international organisation works tirelessly to suppress all evidence of their existence.
So far Iona has falsified results, destroyed evidence and conducted a little light manipulation and misdirection, her position as Lecturer at the Diederich Institute of Parapsychology in Edinburgh makes her the perfect agent.
When some grisly murders are uncovered in a sleepy little highland village, the locals start whispering about a mythical Beast, Iona is pulled out of her desk job and onto the front line. It’s her responsibility to work out what’s happened and stop the chatter at all costs, this absolutely cannot hit the global 24/7 news networks.
Soon Iona is questioning if she’s even on the right side. Henry an ancient revolutionary believes that every kind has the right to exist and live openly in the world, that they deserve the same civil rights as everyone else, no matter how destabilising that would be to society. It seems this isn’t just an incident, but a clash in an escalating war.

Mehso-so

I'm conflicted. There are several characters I'm very interested in, and I'd like to understand this world better, but I can't stand the main character. I don't think I'll be continuing the series.

I appreciate some of the descriptions and phrasing in this book but I'm starting to dislike the MC. Has anyone read this? Does she get better?

The word is oriented. Not orientated. ORIENTED. #petpeeve
