She lives in the best suburb. She goes to the finest school. Her family is wealthy and powerful. She has everything money can buy. So why are there reporters outside her house? And why is her father telling lies on television? And why is the Premier talking about them in State Parliament? Something is wrong. Something is terribly wrong. Riveting and compulsively readable, John Marsden's Checkers plunges us deep in the mind and world of a teenage girl whose life has spun completely out of control.

I ventured out on Boxing Day (😬) to a big shopping centre in the suburbs (🫣) to exchange a gift (👀) and wow was there a lot of people (😱)

Anyway, after spending the least amount of time possible in said shopping centre, I drove past Savers and was surprised they were open - and I mean… since I was in the area… thought I might as well have a quick look at the books (😜😇)

Digging through piles of books at a secondhand book fair, and I came across this book which I used to adore as a teenager but had forgotten all about as an adult. Isn‘t it funny how that happens sometimes?

Pickpick

This book was important to me as a teen with depression. It's the first book I had ever read that looked at mental illness in teens

ClairesReads I looooooved this! 8y
