Bolaño's 2666, initially published 21 years ago (I remember!) & totalling a bit over 1k pages has always been one of the longest that I've read, but WT Vollmann just said, “Hold my beer.“ The tagged 4 volume set, due to be published in March 2026 will clock in at 4x the length of the Bolaño. ☠️
BarbaraBB 😱😱will you read it? I think 2666 is my longest book too. 5d
LeahBergen Yikes! 😆 I think my longest book read is A Suitable Boy. (edited) 5d
AshleyHoss820 I haven‘t read 2666 yet, but it‘s on deck. I think my longest completed read is Infinite Jest, but I‘m about 300-ish pages away from finishing 1Q84 too. This chunkster looks INTERESTING! Thanks for putting it on our radar, I think? 🤣🤣 5d

vivastory @BarbaraBB Vollmann is on my TBR, but there is absolutely no way I can picture reading a 4,000 page book 😱. My longest is the very strange 2 vol epic Italian poem Orlando Furioso. Second place would be The Stand. (edited) 4d
vivastory @LeahBergen That one is on my TBR....I figure what's a few hundred more pages than The Stand 😂 4d
vivastory @AshleyHoss820 1Q84 is def on my chunkster TBR 4d
AshleyHoss820 @vivastory I‘m *kinda* thinking of keeping my reading goal super low (maybe 12?) and working on those chunksters that I keep side-eyeing cuz I can‘t make direct eye contact…😂 I‘m about 75% of the way through 1Q84 and honestly, it‘s such a fascinating read! 3d
