I listened to this I wish there had been different narrators 4 the 2 different timelines bc then I would‘ve kept more of it straight. There were groups of women in both timelines & I couldn‘t always keep all of the names straight. The plot was intriguing at times. It was overall an okay read. Not too memorable. I would read other books by the author but it wouldn‘t beat the top of my list. If I‘d read the physical book I may have felt different.

Sten‘s latest thriller, across two timelines, is a gripping read! In 2012, the Nacka Four went missing from their annual trip to party on a remote island. Now, a decade later, Tessa really only agrees to go to the titular party for an old friend because she suspects that Isle Blind is where the women‘s last moments took place. Desperate to turn her career around as a true crime podcaster, Tessa may get annoying but the plot‘s full of surprises!

'The Bachelorette Party' is Camilla Sten's first book written directly in English. It has a lot of suspense and atmosphere. Tessa has alterior motive for attendinding her friend's bachelorette party. She investigates the disappearance of four girls from the same island as the party. However, members of the party have their own secrets to hide. There is a dual timeline. I enjoyed the prose and imagery of the book. 4 stars. Thank you, NetGalley

Some things that struck me here. The main characters and locations are Swedish. It doesn't take away anything from the story but helps to acknowledge the differences.
The story: a bit derivative but you cope, just affected the flow of the story. The twist here holds until about 80% through. You gotta wonder how so many pretty Swedish lasses are such emotional basketcases.
BUT decent read. Yes I would recommend to thriller/ suspense readers.

1. The majestic daffodil. Yellow hope overload.
2. I won entirely too many ARCs I‘m now obligated to read. Got to cancel some preorders though.
Just checked: Twenty ARCs from NetGalley. First up is tagged. A have 6-7 indies though as well, just lesser priority.
