Mighty Good Road

I read sixty pages of MIGHTY GOOD ROAD before bed last night and I‘m very much here for Melissa Scott‘s vibes. She‘s mighty good at building intricate, fun-to-discover worlds inhabited by intriguing characters. I can‘t wait to read more.

ALSO, I found a Leonardo Hello Kitty and while I‘m sad for the kid who lost it, I‘m super happy for me. Leonardo was my childhood fave because he had TWO SWORDS like a BADASS.

Yesterday I found evidence someone tried to break into this house, which was scary for me personally and also would‘ve backfired big time for the thief because the awful couch? Ain‘t even the start of it.

Also, Daisy would‘ve mauled them and peed on their foot while she husky-shrieked.

But hey, I got to visit my favourite used bookstore today! I bought stuff by Fumi Yoshinaga and Melissa Scott. The Massey Lecture was a Little Free Library find.

Avanders How awful! 😢 I‘m glad everyone is safe! I hate that people are out there who do that. 😔 5mo

xicanti @Avanders this is a high crime neighbourhood and people took stuff from the yard before my uncle started chaining it all up, but I think this is the first time they‘ve ever forced a door open. Luckily, the inner door is sturdier and layered with insulation, so I guess it was too much hassle to deal with in the dark. 5mo

Avanders Well we can be thankful for that! I‘m in law, but it doesn‘t stop me from hating that/when people hurt people. 😔 (eta: I just mean, I‘m not numb to it) Glad you came away unscathed, but I know from personal experience that, even so, it‘s so stressful! Sending peace! 🤍 (edited) 5mo
