I came for the 80s nostalgia, and it delivered. This is a well-structured memoir with clear, coherent timelines that don't jump around confusingly.
🎙️Ione Skye delivered an excellent performance reading her own work.

I love movies and reading about behind the scenes and Im a Gen Xer too so OF COURSE I was going to enjoy reading Ione Skye‘s memoir. There were so many touchpoints I remembered, movies, music, models. Ione had a wild ride through teen movie stardom and looking back can see the motivations that drove some toxic relationships. She delves into her feelings of abandonment by the father who wouldnt acknowledge her. ⬇️

Of course the celebrity memoir lover in me consumed this in three days. I just didn‘t think that so many people I knew would be like, “who‘s Ione Skye”. As a lover of John Cusack & the Beastie Boys, she filled in some fun (and sad)little tid bits. If this is your generation, totally worth the read.

Wow, Ione Skye was not kidding when she chose the title of this book. She is very open about her relationships with Anthony Kiedis and Adam Horovitz (Ad-Rock from the Beastie Boys), as well as her dalliances along the way (including with not one but two of Madonna's ex-girlfriends). She is both candid and unapologetic about her life, and it certainly makes for an interesting read, especially for a Gen X contemporary like me.

I listened to this mainly because it sounded like she spilled the tea about her relationships and conquests, which is largely true. (I love how she really tried to get with Keanu and he showed himself to be the gem we know he is.) I do feel like she held back a ton (her prerogative, of course), and she did mainly focus on her relationships here, but it was fun to hear about all the famous people.

For the most part, I enjoyed this memoir.
Ione was unlikeable at times, but she grew into herself and found her happily ever after.
I loved the photos!
