3 posts | 2 read | 2 to read
The same team who brought you Where Do Diggers Sleep at Night? have engineered another rollicking bedtime storyfor train lovers everywhere! Have you ever wondered what little trains do when its time for bed? The same things you do! Freight trains, passenger trains, subways, trolleysand morewash up, have a snack, load their teddies for story time, and get rocked to sleep by mommy and daddy trains beneath a blanket of stars. Little train lovers with a one-track mind will gain a new affinity for their bedtime routine when they find they share it with their favorite vehicles. Sayres and Slade move naturally from their truck lullaby, Where Do Diggers Sleep at Night? , to this nighttime serenade to all things train. Hopeful engineers will want to be able to identify the many different types of trains, and their out-of-the-know adults will appreciate this inclusive primer. My son would have loved this book as a child! Written with rhymes that are catchy for the times! “Where do steam trains sleep at night after puffing down the tracks? Do their moms steam up hot cocoa for their just-before-bed-snacks?” Find out when you read this fun and easy book. #UCFLAE3414SP18 This book is great for a science lesson on the differences between steam, coal and electric fueled engines. JenniferMc A wonderful fiction (F) book for K-3, that uses UDL 3.2 to highlight patterns, critical features, big ideas and relationships between steam, coal and electric engines. I have included a link of an interactive read along. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=veC5RUapLwY. Teaching strategy RA (edited) 6y

I got this for my son today and when we finished reading it he said "I love this book!" So there you have it, an honest review from a 3 year old. I personally thought the illustrations were beautiful and on each page there is the most adorable mouse conductor.

bookishkai Putting on my library list for my nanny kid, she's currently obsessed with trains. 8y
