Nurse Julie started her career in ICU. After some painful experiences she observed with other patients, she knew she wanted to take another approach to care: the most important care we so often don‘t talk about: care for the dying. So began her work in hospice! I follow her socials and recommend it as it is very educational. As a hospice volunteer, I was already familiar with many things in this book, but, there is always more to learn, ⬇️

JenniferEgnor and more stories to hear. I can‘t recommend this book enough—everyone should read it! We don‘t always get to plan around our death, but if we can, we should. Julie walks you through every part of that, from the decision to start hospice, your hospice worker team, what dying looks and sounds like (months to days to hours), and grief—there‘s even a chapter on MAID, or ‘Death with Dignity‘, aka Medical Aid in Dying. Read this book! 4w
