•I think your enjoyment of this novella will really come down to whether or not you can tolerate the baby talk. I‘m thinking it‘s easier to bear on Audio since the narration is excellently performed. Overall, it was rather spare on details but generous with heart and grit.

2 years later Mella & her 2 yr old brother Patrick live in fear of the man they know as daddy. They don‘t understand why Alex is chained to the floor but daddy has convinced them that mommy is a liar.
The story is told by the young girl so you need to think like a young girl. Sometimes she‘s just parroting Alex & Charlie.
I was on edge the entire time.

pickIndie author brawl! This was super depressing. I almost stopped it several times, but I‘m glad I kept with it. I‘ve never read Room, but I heard a lot of comparisons with it, in that both are told from the point of view of a child. The afterword by the author made this story all the more heartbreaking.
