Everyone and Everything
Everyone and Everything | Nadine Cohen
5 posts | 5 read | 16 to read
A dazzling debut full of wry wisdom by one of Australia's most exciting emerging novelists, Everyone and Everything will make you laugh inappropriately, cry unexpectedly and reach out to those you love. When Yael Silver's world comes crashing down, she looks to the past for answers and finds solace in surprising places. An unconventional new friendship, a seaside safe space and an unsettling amount of dairy help her to heal, as she wrestles with her demons and some truly terrible erotic literature. Everyone and Everything is about family, mental health and inherited trauma, told with humour and humility, perfect for fans of Sorrow and Bliss by Meg Mason and A Lonely Girl is a Dangerous Thing by Jessie Tu. An intimate exploration of grief and inherited trauma, it asks what makes us who we are and what leads us onto ledges.

What a stunning piece of autofiction this is! Family, friendship, grief & the slow recovery from a serious mental health crisis are beautifully & sensitively rendered in this sad, funny and artfully written book. Thank you @MrsMalaprop for putting it on my radar. I loved it. #ozfiction

LapReader I loved it too. 1w

Aussie author, autofiction ? I loved this book. Very real. Great sense of humour. I hope the sequel, should she write one, is her marriage to Andy. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wow 😮. Great debut #ozfiction. Dark themes written about with humour. Can‘t wait to see what my book club thinks, because some of it was a bit edgy and out there, and we are old ladies 🤣.

Rissreadswithcats I‘ve never heard of it! 1y
CarolynM I bought myself a copy yesterday on the strength of your earlier post. Glad it finished strongly🙂 1y

Chose this for my Bookclub to read. Can. Not. Put. It. Down. I feel a weekend of neglecting my family coming on, if I don‘t finish it before then. Why am I the first person on Litsy to read this? Where for art thou Australian Littens? #currentlyreading #ozfiction

Teresereading I haven‘t seen it ? 1y
CarolynM It‘s a new one on me. I don‘t remember seeing anything about it when it came out. I am going to a bookshop tomorrow. I will look for it.🙂 1y
