Well, I suppose atheism is a religion in the same way that creationism is a science, or Islam is a religion of peace. In other words, when language no longer really means anything.

It must be the bit where Jesus talks about living in palaces full of art treasures, protecting pedophiles, and collaborating with the Nazis. I haven't actually managed to find that passage myself, but I'm sure it must be in the Gospels somewhere.
But anyway, that's pretty much how things stand here in Britain. Religion is alive and well, in the sense that a crocodile that's swimming towards you is alive and well, and its influence is growing as steadily as a clergyman's penis in a room full of choirboys.
