Case of the Bleus: A Cheese Shop Mystery
Case of the Bleus: A Cheese Shop Mystery | Korina Moss
5 posts | 4 read | 3 to read
What in the bleu blazes is happening in Yarrow Glen now? Cheesemongers from across the Northwest have come to the Sonoma Valley for the Northwest Cheese Invitational. As owner of the local cheese shop, Curds & Whey, Willa Bauer loves it. The event showcases custom cheese creations, and it's the perfect time to gather with old colleagues to honor her former boss, the late and grate cheese legend, Max Dumas. He was famous for journeying into the wild bleu yonder to where he aged his award-winning custom Church Bleu. Only Max knew the recipe and location to his beloved cheese, and many are eager to have these revealed at his will reading. But instead of naming someone to inherit his cheese and its secrets, Max stuns everyone with one cryptic clue. When a fellow cheesemonger dies under mysterious circumstances--the woman they all thought would get the secrets to Max's prized possession--everyone falls under suspicion. Willa adores Church Bleu as much as the next cheese connoisseur, but it's not to die for. Is a killer trying to get away with murder...and the cheese?

First book I have read by Korina Moss. It took me ten days to read this cozy mystery. It didn't keep my interest. I would read a chapter or two and then put it down. I wouldn't pick it up for a few days. Maybe if I had read the others in the series I would of liked it.

Thanks to Netgalley, St. Martin's Press, Minotaur Books for the E-ARC. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Engaging characters that have grown by leaps and bounds since the first book, Cheddar Off Dead, 2 superb mysteries, and all that cheese was more than A Perfect Escape. It was A Trip to Paradise, complete with a virtual Cheeseburger in Paradise. I had to give it my highest rating and add it to My Best Reads of 2023!

Will has a lot on her plate, what with her new cheese shop, a friend maybe murdered, an ex implicated, & her former mentor leaving her a treasure hunt to the recipe for his priceless blue cheese.

This was delightful! This story kept me guessing because all the suspects kept making themselves more suspicious. Delicious recipes I can‘t wait to try & a solid, clever ending. I do wish we could have got to know the side characters more. 🌕🌕🌕🌕🌑

I‘m reading this book, and the main character just started describing some of her friends with different types of cheeses.

It reminds me of when my parents were in high school, my mom and her best friend assigned foods based on personality to everyone in their senior year. And she decided my dad was Swiss Cheese, because he was bland and holy. 😂

Clare-Dragonfly I presume her opinion of him improved eventually 😂 7mo
