Not That Duke
Not That Duke: A Would-Be Wallflowers Novel | Eloisa James
4 posts | 4 read | 3 to read
The Duke of Huntington has no interest in an eccentric redhead who frowns at him over her spectaclesuntil he realizes that she is the only possible duchess for him. A new enemies-to-lovers romance by New York Times bestselling author Eloisa James. Bespeckled and freckled, Lady Stella Corsham at least has a dowry that has attracted a crowd of fortune-hunting suitorswhich definitely doesnt include the sinfully handsome Silvester Parnell, Duke of Huntington, who laughingly calls her Specs as he chases after elegant rivals. And then The worst happens. Marriage. To the duke. To a man marrying her for all the wrong reasons. How can Silvester possibly convince Stella that hes fallen in love with the quirky woman he married? Especially after she laughingly announces that shes in lovebut not with that duke. Not with her husband.

Just finished listening to this audio book- I really enjoy narrator Susan Duerden ‘s audio performances. She really adds to my enjoyment . This is the second installment in @EloisaJames new series Would-Be Wallflowers. Not a lot happens in the book but it is a nice romance with an interesting note at the end about the author‘s middle school experience. I do love a ducal romance 💚🐉

Short, plump, clumsy, freckled, bespectacled, red haired Stella just wants a nice little cottage close to a bookshop, but as the granddaughter of a viscount she has to have a season.

The earl whom her aunt wants her to end up with has eyes for the Diamond of the Season only. The duke who never misses a waltz with her is courting the same diamond. When is someone going to choose Stella first?

Bonus points for the unconventional Dowager Duchess!

Who doesn‘t want to finish first in love? A relatable heroine meets a duke who loves her most ardently. A fiery romance l finished in two days.

With its combination of an adorable heroine, clueless duke hero, witty repartee, and steamy sexytimes, Not That Duke is my favorite of the series, so far. Of the three heroines, short, plump, bespectacled, freckled, clumsy, and clever Stella answers best to the title Would-Be Wallflower. I love that she didn‘t have to change herself in order for Silvester to fall for her.
