Some of the #MittenLittens might know of artist/ poet Gwen Frostic, but the rest of you probably don't. She was a Michigan native who did beautiful woodblock prints and poems... mainly about nature. There's even a small museum in what used to be her studio that you can visit (I'd like to!). I have a collection of her books and absolutely adore them. She's not very well known, but we should change that.

CrowCAH I didn‘t know! Where‘s the studio/museum; what city? 6y
GondorGirl @CrowCAH It's in Benzonia... up between Traverse City and Muskegon. 6y

Gwen Frostic was a poet and artist from Michigan. She published her own books in a workshop near her home.

RealLifeReading How pretty! 8y
ValerieAndBooks I saw her stationery all the time when we lived in Michigan for several years. Didn't know she was a poet also-- will have to look into that! 8y
quirkyreader @ValerieAndBooks Someday I hope to make it to her studio. It has been turned into a museum. 8y

ValerieAndBooks That's good to keep in mind if I ever get back there. Are you in Michigan? 8y

quirkyreader @ValerieAndBooks the home of Borders. Long ago before the bookshop wars I went to the flagship store. I also used to go dancing with friends at the Nectarine Ballroom. 8y
ValerieAndBooks Loved the original Borders so much. It was never really the same after it "went commercial"?. Weather permitting hubby and I used to walk into town, eat at one of AA's countless restaurant (Arbor Brewing Co was a fave), then go to Borders afterwards. Good times! 8y
