Novelist Henry Coop Cooper is contemplating a new book between sipping rum and lounging on a Baja beach with hotel owner Grady Doyle. When Grady tries to save a drunk from two thugs, Coop tags along for the sake of a good story. The drunk is Ebbie Milch, a small-time thief on the run in Mexico because he has stolen the never-before-seen first draft of Ernest Hemingways A Moveable Feast from a wealthy rare book dealer. The stolen manuscript is more than just a rare piece of literary history. It reveals clues to an even bigger prize: the location of a suitcase the young, unpublished Hemingway lost in Paris in 1922. A years worth of his stories had vanished, never to be seen again. Until now. But Coop and Grady arent the only ones with their eyes on this elusive literary prize, and what starts as a hunt for a legendary writers lost works becomes a deadly adventure. For Coop this story could become the book of a lifetime . . . if he lives long enough to write it. From the Trade Paperback edition.

This was a surprisingly good book! The plot is in the same vain as a Jack Reacher novel. However, instead of Jack, the main character is a nervous, sarcastic, sheltered writer. The whole book was refreshing and the ending was marvelous.

MrBook Sounds great! Added 👍🏻. 7y

Mehso-so

Mucking through constant profanity got a little annoying but the mystery was good and I liked the way it ended, not as you'd expect.

If you know a thing or two about Hemingway, you know that his first wife lost a suitcase full of his early writings before he was a popular author. It was never recovered. This book is a fictional story about an author on the hunt for the suitcase. I'm starting it today, excited to see how the story plays out. #hemingway

I love a good book where the protagonist is an author. I took this book on vacation and finished it in two days. A nice easy read

Great mystery! Witty, suspenseful, and downright hilarious. It's a Midwest Connections pick and deservedly so.
