This is a fast paced book that follows two women and their voyage on the SS Morro Castle and the mystery that surrounds them. I don't think I can describe it much past the first sentence without giving the story away. It was a quick read and action packed from the very beginning. I enjoyed the writing style, characters and the overall plot. I found some of the twists to be a bit obvious but otherwise a good book.

Librarybelle Good choice! I have one of her books…I should read it for the challenge! 10mo

Heatwave here so nothing better than an iced coffee and a book. I'm not sure that there is much Cuba in this book but Havana is somewhat tied into this book from reading the blurb so I'm going to count it as a Cuba read. Also not sure how long I'll last outside in this heat but we'll at least get started on the book!

I enjoyed this. Glamorous setting, secrets, twists, and a historical event that I didn't know about before reading this novel.

Fabulous 👌 5 stars. There is a ship, 4 unreliable characters, and one crazy plot. Not sure how to describe it without spoilers.. so i won't. Book 2 of #deweyapril #readathon

A good story with strong female characters very reminiscent of Sidney Sheldon. The history wasn't strong in this one, but the fiction makes up for it.

22 #32 I loved this book. Chanel Cleeton is one of my faves!

marleed Me too. I had no idea the Morro Castle was an IRL ship until asking Alexa about it near the end of the book. I only asked because it seemed liked she squeezed in a couple unnecessary elements as the book neared it‘s end which made me realize she might be including actual facts there! 12mo
Danay I did the exact same thing! Something about it just rang true. Had never heard about the Morro Castle before this book! 12mo

There were so many moving parts to this book, which the author is so good at pulling off. I did enjoy it, went through it quite quickly, I didn't love it as much as her others. Perhaps I missed the Perez family?

I look forward to my armchair trips to Cuba with Chanel. I deliberately jump in without knowing more to the story than Cuba. I was all in with this telling of the five fictional characters on a 1934 cruise from NYC to Havana and back upon the Morro Castle. I was surprised by the lack of HF and almost at the end when I asked, ‘Alexa, tell me about the SS Morrow Castle.‘ …Well, that‘s my new history for the day!

Love me a Chanel Cleeton historical adventure/ romance. In this one, two women harboring secrets about their past seek revenge aboard a round trip luxury cruise from New York to Havana. Intrigue ensues. Listened to this one in one go because I just couldn't put it down.

Oooooo…it‘s a good one!!

REVIEW 4/11

Two women with plans and two women who are not portraying who they really are as they board the infamous SS Morro Castle.

A great setting, a few surprises, and unsavory characters that make the book one you won‘t want to put down.

Historical fiction fans, women‘s fiction fans, and fans of books set on a ship that may historically be unknown to the reader will enjoy this book.
