#readingbracket2023 #2023readingbracket I won‘t finish another book before the end of August (?!?!) so I thought I‘d post this now so I don‘t forget 😆 Finally! An easy decision 😮‍💨 Any books from the Sparks & Bainbridge series will always be a top pick for me, I cannot recommend these books enough 🤩👍

I have zero self-control. Zilch. Nada. I love this series so much and barely made it a week after its pub date to not only start BUT FINISH IT! The dialogue between Gwen and Sparks is just perfect, it honestly plays more like a TV show than a novel. I cannot stop raving about this series, it‘s an auto-preorder for me as soon as I hear another book is coming (I may or may not have an active Google Alert for this author and “Sparks & Bainbridge”😉)

Loved, loved, loved this one, the fifth Sparks & Bainbridge. A mysterious murder made to look like suicide, Gwendolyn's continuing legal problems, and mysterious mothmen. Well, entomologists, anyway, and moth-shaped cookies after an exciting lecture! ⬇️

Aimeesue ⬆️Montclair continues to develop her characters, letting them grow along with their confidence in their match-making and murder-solving prowess. The dialog is witty, sharp, and laced with literary allusions, which adds up to a read that you can feel good about because you actually *got*those literary allusions. A lot of fun, a lot of heart, and a wholly satisfying read. 1y

Despite having no info on the story itself except "murder once again stalks the proprietors of The Right Sort Marriage Bureau in the surprisingly dangerous landscape of post-World War II London" I snapped this up for two reasons: 1.Sparks, and 2.Bainbridge. And maybe 2.5 - Sally. Such good books!
This is the fifth in the series. Pub Date 25 Jul 2023

Amie I love this series! 1y
Aimeesue @Amie They're so good! The perfect balance of wit and sharp humor and messy personal lives and struggles. ❤️ 1y
