Pickpick

This book was James Lee Burke's best yet. I love his books, but this one is my favorite. Lots of action in this book, especially supernatural action. I highly recommend this book.

NovelGirl82 He‘s one of my absolute faves! Black Cherry Blues was my intro into “adult” mysteries and ie memorialized in the lit tattoo on my back. 2y

“In my time here on earth I‘ve learned nothing. The mystery of creation and it‘s beginning and end remain a mystery. I believe the great sin is to depart the world without discovering the raison d'être for one‘s existence” (p.270)

This is one hell of a novel. Full of the ghosts that haunt us all: the “things done and things left undone.” One of Burke‘s best. Once you‘ve finished read “A Study in Bravery” at Jamesleeburke.com and share his grief

Mehso-so

I‘m hesitant to start a series midstream, but I‘ve read some earlier novels in the Robicheaux series, so I gambled on this one. The introduction makes it clear that this is a more personal novel for the author as both he and the main character, Aaron Holland Broussard, deal with the grief of unexpectedly losing their daughters. The writing shines in those descriptions as well as those of the Montana landscape. Parts of the plot fell a bit flat…

EvieBee I love this artist and didn‘t realize there was a calendar. Love it! Lol! 🦈 💕 2y
