Set in Victorian England, a witch and a private investigator hunt a serial killer.
My first audiobook at work for the year. The story had potential but I thought the whodunit was a bit obvious. I liked the narrator and I‘ll give the second story a chance.
I enjoyed this for the most part, but found the plot lacking in some way. I lost focus several times, despite liking the narrator. The “whodunnit” aspect of the story was rather predictable, in my opinion. But I liked the characters, the action, and the magical elements. It ended on a sort of cliffhanger, and I‘d say I‘m willing to give book 2 a try.
This had all my favorite things. Witches, Victorian setting, serial killer…and a clever ending that will have you wanting to get the follow up. Not a cliffhanger per se. This is my last #bookspin book and I left it for last afraid I wouldn‘t care for it. Free KU read program. #bookspin #readingchallenge @TheAromaofBooks
Set in Victorian England a witch and a private detective hunt a serial killer. This book was magical and mysterious, I loved the story and the characters. Kept me gripped from start to finish. A definite pick
