TIME The Year in Review distills 2020 into the most memorable images and stories of the year, from the 2020 Election and Kamala Harris's historic ascent to America's overdue racial awakening and the continued fight against COVID-19. Also included are profiles of the year's biggest names, from Anthony Fauci and Jos Andrs to Padma Lakshmi, Naomi Osaka, and Bubba Wallace. And we look back on those we lost this year, luminaries like Ruth Bader Ginsburg, Kobe Bryant, John Lewis and more. TIME The Year in Review is a definitive capsule collection of one of the most impactful years of the 21st century.

My Book Year in Review, 2021 and my TOP PICKS?
Another year of reading comes to a close and a new year of adventures begins with the next chapter.
I'm a "stats" girl and love to look back on my year of reading. People always ask "what are you reading now" or ask for recommendations. I'm always happy to talk books ?
Here is an inside look at my year:

STATS
?111 total books read
?Shortest Book 24 pages
(Cont in comments)...

@Nute @Graywacke @batsy Thank you for your tags for #top21in21 #top21of21
Star Trek TOS 365 doesn't appear only because I couldn't get the cover to sit well in the collage, and the year's not yet over, so whether this is my final list ... 😏

batsy A super intriguing list! I love seeing the Rilke in there, and the rest I want to add to the TBR without delay :) 2y
Centique There are some fascinating looking books in there! I have recently discovered the joy of Alan Garner so I must get to this one too. 2y
TrishB Have screenshot 👍🏻 2y

TrishB Just ordered the Bowie one for hubby for Christmas 👍🏻 2y
Bookwomble @batsy Yeah, the Rilke was a highlight 🌟 2y
Bookwomble @Centique I've got his most recent book (tagged) under the tree 🎄📖😊 2y
Bookwomble @TrishB Despite being a curated collection of media quotes about DB, I really loved that book. I'm sure your hubby will, too 💛👨🏼‍🎤🧡😊 2y
Graywacke I knew you would have a fascinating list and unlike any other. Great stuff. (Tom Bombadil? I thought everyone skipped that part of LotR ☺️, and yet you found(!) and read a whole book on him and apparently it‘s pretty good.) 2y
Bookwomble @Graywacke I fell in love with Tim Bombadil and Goldberry the first time I read LoTR, and though my recollection is a little hazy 🤔 I think I might have read The Adventures of... first, from my primary school library. Fun poems, which Tolkien pretends are traditional hobbit folktales from the Shire 😊 2y
Graywacke @Bookwomble had no idea he wrote them independently. 2y
Nute You‘re welcome, Michael!🙂 Fantastic reading this year! I remember your review on The Water Margin much earlier in the year. I made note of that book then. So glad to see that it claimed a spot on your Favorites ‘21 List. I am discovering so many new books because of everyone‘s choices. Reading through these posts is like a Saturday morning heavenly literary smorgasbord from some of my most favorite people on the planet! Such a delight!💕 2y
Bookwomble @Graywacke Tom was based one of his children's toys, about whom Tolkien made up stories to amuse them, and which eventually found their way into his writings. I love that the magical stories the world enjoys began as tales of a doting parent for his children 💖 2y
Graywacke @Bookwomble that‘s really cool. 2y
LeahBergen Mapp and Lucia!! ❤️❤️ 2y
Bookwomble @LeahBergen I read the whole series this year, but Mapp and Lucia is their apotheosis 🙂 2y
LeahBergen @Bookwomble It certainly is! I only have the last one left to read. 😢 2y
Bookwomble @LeahBergen Ah, but then you get to read them again, and knowing what's coming before the characters do is delicious! “There is a certain amount which I shan't mention publicly," Elizabeth said. "Things about Lucia which I should never dream of stating openly."
"Those are just the ones I should like to hear about most," said Diva. "Just a few little titbits.” ?
2y
LeahBergen Bahaha! That‘s glorious! And yes, I will definitely be rereading these. 2y
merelybookish What a great list! I'm also taking notes. Hearing Trumpet by Carrington made my life. I bet her life story is fascinating! 2y
Bookwomble @Nute The Water Margin was a wonderful surprise for me. I'd expected a typically rushed-off novelization of the TV show, but it was clearly a well-considered labour of love. I hope I'm not overselling it 😬🤞🏻 2y
Bookwomble @merelybookish I fell in love with Leonora reading that book! 💖 The Hearing Trumpet is fantastic, isn't it? I must track down her short stories next year. 2y
merelybookish @Bookwomble I wouldnt have thought surrealism was my bag but the Hearing Trumpet was so much fun! I have a copy of her short stories. On the list for next year! 2y
