Audiobook pick:
If you like character driven novels, you will likely enjoy this. I usually need more action, but this was actually well paced. The backstories were good. I got invested in all their broken stories and how they converged.

You want to read this! It wasn‘t at all like I imagined. A group of individuals stuck in their own rut/pit struggle together in a library to survive a brutal blizzard. In the darkness they open up to each other, disclosing deep secrets. In the others responses, they get glimpse of another view for their problems. Triggers might be addiction and alcoholism, but for me the scenes/memories were realistic.

I thought this book was enjoyable. I liked that the story unfolded with 3 different narrators, thus shifting the perspective. I thought the story was current and relatable. It was thought provoking. One night, one situation can change many lives

This book started slow, but I‘m glad I stuck with it. A nasty winter storm left 5 mostly random people snowed in overnight in the library; the librarian with a bleeding heart, a motherless teen searching for guidance, the library security guard who emigrated from Bosnia, the begrudged elderly wife of a beloved patron who passed away recently, and a homeless man who sought shelter and gained much more. Book #6 in 2022

The thrill of a new read 😍

The story takes place overnight in a library when five people get stranded due to a massive snowstorm. Each person has their own dilemma. As the storm rages, they get to know each other in more details They say never judge a book by its cover and the same should goes towards people as well. The only bad part about the story was the use of the GD word quite often. Words like that make me cringe.

This was an #audiolisten and I loved the different narrators voices. Five people of various ages and backgrounds get trapped in an old library during a fierce winter storm. They lose power and heat and must rely on each other to make it through til rescue comes. The diverse backgrounds and how they start to see beneath each other‘s veneers was well done. Nora seems stuck in a never-ending rut but redeems herself at the end. Recommend this one.

This is a very thought provoking story. About homelessness, addiction, possible caring too much. Five people stuck in the library for the night during a huge snowstorm. Each with a story. All with some type of loss. All learning something from the night.
It really hit home for me. Touched me right in my heart.
