This is a literary, convoluted, mystery with odd characters. Reading it is like looking at life through main character Skyla‘s failing eyes. The corners are dark and nothing is at all clear. If you‘re in the mood for something off-kilter but not off-putting, this is for you. I loved it!

p.s. The author and I share a surname, but aren‘t related. 😎

BarbaraTheBibliophage @Clwojick It is good. Odd and genre defying also. But I gave it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ so there‘s that. Pub date is 3/22 :-) 2y

BOOKMAIL is the BEST!!

Thank you, @harpercollins for the surprise book!!

I‘m curious why popcorn was included.

Does anyone know if it has some significance to the book? 😍

BarbaraTheBibliophage Part of the locale is a deserted drive-in movie theater! It‘s actually there on the cover. 2y

Thanks to Netgalley for an early copy of this...I did not know where this book was going Until the author brought it all together brilliantly! The originality of the story kept it very intriguing and the old drive-in setting was perfect! #netgalley #herlastaffair

I loved Searles‘ latest absorbing novel! It‘s a reflective, almost nostalgic read as the three main characters look back at their pasts- but also makes for a rather creepily convoluted love story… Skyla Hull lost her husband just short of their 50th wedding anniversary & finds a connection with a new tenant on her property while miles away Linelle receives a message from her own past & Jeremy returns to his hometown to confront his first love.
