Vol. 1 of Oshimi's manga tells of Seiichi Osabe & his mother Seiko who takes helicopter parenting to a whole new level. I have not read much manga, but my experience with it is that it relies heavily on plot. This can be a benefit for readers who have busy schedules & are looking for a format that delivers a quick story. They are like espresso stories. vivastory complexity or simmering tension, but tend to favor quicker developments. It was nice to read this volume where although there is an underlying simmering dread, things don't come to a head until the very end. Good, twisted stuff. 11mo
