I have a huge girl-crush on Meera Syal so I was always going to enjoy listening to her read her novel, but I loved it even more than I expected. She covers a huge amount of ground in this story of a second generation British Indian woman and her significantly younger partner pursuing parenthood via surrogacy in India. I felt completely immersed in the family dynamics and Indian culture. I'd recommend the audio for Meera's lovely voice & accents.

CarolynM I think you'd enjoy this @Cinfhen - lots of meaty social/cultural/moral issues. I'm going to listen to this one next 4y

A great book for Audio, Indian and English accents were lovely. Some of the obvious difficulties with surrogacy were uncovered in this novel about a British couple, with discordant ages and ethnicities, who search for a way to get pregnant. This may not be the most wonderfully written book, but was still very enjoyable.
