I don't know much about Mexican folk magic, and felt like this was a good introduction. The author explains things well, takes the time to acknowledge what is different from one family to the next, and emphasizes the harm of cultural appropriation (and colonization) throughout. Occasionally, it felt like the author minorly contradicted himself. #Magic #Witchy #FolkMagic
Reggie When we were kids my brother got sick. And the doctors didn‘t know what was up. He just stayed in bed and didn‘t get better. My grandma told my mom that her sister my Tia Martha would be coming over. She laid my brother down on a blanket on the floor in his underwear. She got an egg and rubbed it all over him while reciting the Hail Mary in Spanish. She cracked the egg and it had these ugly bolitas on the yolk. She said someone had given him the 3y
Reggie evil eye. And within the hour, he was up like he hadn‘t been sick for the past week. 3y
Kenyazero @Reggie That must have been a really scary but really interesting experience! I'm glad your Tia's work helped your brother recover! 3y
