Overall this is a lovely tale, fitting of its author. There is a lot of Dahl's humour, and the narrative is wonderfully, and beautifully, imaginative.

Last two books of the Roald Dahl collection completed. I remember the Esio Trot story but I don't think I'd ever read Billy before.

Little Billy,disobeying his mother,goes into the forest and is chased by a creature,he climbs a tree to escape and meets the Minpins: tiny people that live inside the trees.Together they make a plan to rid the forest of the creature.
The book teaches us to "Above all,watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places.Those who don't believe in magic will never find it"

First time reading this story. It was good. My daughter enjoyed it. The earlier Dahl books will always be my favourites. This book keeps up the Dahl tradition of madcap characters. The ‘feel of it‘ as it were is not the same as the Dahl books of my youth. But it‘s probably time that‘s giving me that impression.
