My Family Plays Music
My Family Plays Music | Judy Cox
4 posts | 4 read | 1 to read
Ping! Ping! Cha-cha-cha! In this lively introduction to different kinds of music, a little girl tries out lots of instruments so she can play with her whole family! She rings a triangle with her dad's string quartet, jingles a cowbell with her brother's rock band, and hits a woodblock with her aunt's jazz group! Festive and animated cut paper art helps the sounds of music to leap off the page in this award-winning primer on musical genres.

This RF, Caldecott award winning book will be a fun add to classroom libraries up to grade 3. A young girl plays through the different instruments her family plays, while trying out new ones of her own! The common theme is music, and will be fun to read in a RA setting. Edutopia explains the benefits of using read aloud in classrooms. https://www.edutopia.org/blog/alternatives-to-round-robin-reading-todd-finley

Betrinag EL strategy 36 will check the comprehension of students during reading, while UDL principle 1.3 will help add dimension to the reading if instruments are accessible. #ucflae3414sp21 3y
