Pickpick

This graphic novel is a fictionalization of true historical events that took place during the Algerian War of Independence (1954-62). The stories of women from different backgrounds intersect in this gripping account of a nearly forgotten aspect of history. I was inspired to pick this up after reading Adimi‘s novel about a bookshop in Algiers (link in comments) and I‘m really glad I did. #Comics #Translation by Ivanka Hahnenberger.

But the hardest part was when we got to France. We were put into a huge camp. I remember everything was gray like in a dirty painting.
