TrishB No, you can‘t do anything to address what happened then! But you can do plenty to try and help fight the institutional racism that is still here as a result of those actions. 3y

Butterfinger 100% agree. I am ashamed of my parents and ancestors. I'm going to do everything I can to combat hate. My battleground is the classroom where I can influence the young with literacy and social studies. #TeachEmpathyThroughHistory 3y

GingerAntics I totally agree with this. No, my ancestors didn‘t have slaves, but my ancestors did look the other way. I can‘t change the past, but I can hopefully help change the future. I do benefit from white privilege whether I want to or not. It is my responsibility as someone with that privilege to speak up and speak out. Until we end white privilege, there is still a problem. TheBookHippie @GingerAntics It astounds me . Back when she started these lessons they were in email form- couple years ago -and it was really good. I just saw that she had it all in one place and thought people might like to look at it as she‘s taught me a lot (she‘s very young like my daughters age) and speaks truth sometimes in your face 🤣😝 but seriously it‘s good. 3y
