The Water Rituals
The Water Rituals | Eva Garcia Saenz
6 posts | 5 read
Kraken is back for the second installment in the acclaimed White City Trilogy, and this time he investigates a series of ritualistic murders that target expectant parents, only to find that the key to uncovering the killer may be found in his own past. A pregnant woman has been murdered in a brutal, ritualistic way: burned, hung, and then placed upside down in a Bronze Age cauldron. When Kraken discovers the victim is his first love, Ana Beln Liao, memories of their time together come flooding back, and with them reminders of a dark secret long buried. Then the killer strikes again, enacting the same ritual against a second expectant parent. Kraken knows he must confront his past in order to unmask this fiend. And there's no time to waste, because Deputy Superintendent Daz de Salvatierra has just found out she's carrying a child. And the father could very well be Kraken himself...

This is book 2 in the series and I have to tell you I love the way this author writes. I love the storytelling and I'm always down for serial killers. Highly recommend this author. #bookspin @TheAromaofBooks

I read this one a couple of months ago my recollection is that it's more or less the same than the first one, I was thrilled that I didn't have to read any more tweets, but because the main character lost his ability to speak having to read how he writes what he has to say it's tiresome (I got tired typing that). In general I liked the mystery more than the first one, it again uses a lot of historical-mythical symbolism. ⬇️⬇️

nanuska_153 The type of victims are chosen once more to fully horrify the reader, with the first book were babies, now it's pregnant women, so readers discretion advised 7mo

Second in a series, murders are happening in a ritualistic way.

I love this trilogy!! This is Book 2. I am really enjoying the combination of mystery and mythology/history in this series. Nicely paced and I didn't figure out the ending until there were a few pages left! 4.5 ⭐⭐⭐⭐🌟

This second book in the White City trilogy is nearly as good as the first and I'm looking forward to the third book. These are quite popular in Spain but they are just being released in English. If you're into Noir and Psychological Thrillers this definitely gets my recommendation.
