Blood Secrets (Valancourt 20th Century Classics) | Craig Jones
3 posts | 2 read | 5 to read
When Irene Rutledge, a brilliant and beautiful young graduate student, meets the mysterious and fascinating Frank Mattison, the two soon fall in love and marry, despite the warnings of Irene's family and friends. But after their marriage, dark secrets from Frank's past begin to emerge to threaten their happiness, secrets that will lead to murder - and a shocking and horrific conclusion ... Craig Jones's critically acclaimed first novel, the Edgar Award-nominated "Blood Secrets" (1978), was a bestseller when originally published and has since been acknowledged by many critics as a masterpiece of modern Gothic fiction. This edition features a new preface by the author. "There's not a dull moment ... [a] shocking tale of evil ... It's undiluted horror." - "Mademoiselle" "Horrendous ... dazzling ... devastating." - "Publishers Weekly" "A book that is hard to put down." - "Atlantic Monthly"

Thank you so much @BookishTrish for my lovely #AllHallowsReadSwap gifts! 😍

I‘ve been eagerly wanting to read both of these books and your wrapping skills are awesome. Did you sustain a paper cut in the process? 😆😆 Thank you for the Smarties and the spooky pins and, as you can see, Regan from The Exorcist was the book clip in the mystery bag. 🤮😂 I love it all.

Thank you for hosting again, @MaleficentBookDragon ! 😘

When I was a teenager my family would stay with friends every summer and they always had juicy books. I read this one every year and luckily my parents didn't realize it was so naughty. So...Blood Secrets was a secret of mine. LOL #secrets #heartsandhardcovers

I won the audiobook for review. Despite the odd cadence of the narrator and the slow start, the explosive ending make this delightfully creepy. Most mind fucked I've ever been by a book!
