Cold Nose, Warm Heart
Cold Nose, Warm Heart | Mara Wells

A poodle, a black lab and a Chihuahua walk into a dog park... All Caleb Donovan has to do to redeem his family name is take a rundown Miami Beach apartment building and turn it into luxury condos. Easy, right? Unfortunately, that would also turn the local dog park into a parking lot and the neighbors aren't having it. Caleb is faced with outright revolt, led by smart, beautiful building manager Riley Carson and her poodle, LouLou. For Caleb, this project should have been a slam dunk. But even more challenging than the neighborhood resistance is the mutual attraction between him and Riley. It would be so much easier just to stay enemies. Can Riley and her canine sidekick convince Caleb that what's best for business isn't always best for the heart?

Mehso-so

Riley, her dog LouLou, and her grandma were fine. Caleb was meh. Caleb‘s grandpa‘s demands were unreasonable, but Caleb played along with him to redeem the family name. Story was okay, but two people with such completely different goals would have a lot more tension between them. The ending was a bit abrupt. Caleb‘s behavior after the building sale was off putting. Liked the dog park, the dogs, and the dog park regulars.

I have a problem. I keep buying books. Many coming from the used book store. After work I went to the grocery store and stopped at the one with the UBS right next door, so strolled in. Came out with 5 more books! 🤦‍♀️ I've been doing this a lot the past few months. Oh well. There's worse things I could be doing I guess...

I recently started reviewing for Fresh Fiction and the author quoted my review of this book on her Facebook page!

Pretty meh, honestly. I kept reading, hoping that it would get better. But it didn‘t and I kinda wish I had #DNF ed it. Oh well, on to my #Bookspin book!

I‘ve never read the tagged author but the title was so adorable, thought I‘d give it a try! #libraryhaul includes some Texas cookbooks from favorite local haunts and a cozy mystery!

ChasingOm I love that cozy mystery series! 4y
