The March of the Crabs Vol. 1
The March of the Crabs Vol. 1 | Arthur de Pins
7 posts | 7 read | 5 to read
WHY WE LOVE IT: At Archaia, we love bringing great comics from all over the world to English-speaking audiences, stories they would never get to see otherwise (see The Killer, Okko, Toppis The Collector, and others). When we read French title March of the Crabs by animator Arthur de Pins, we knew right away we had to add it to our list! WHY YOULL LOVE IT: Arthur de Pins art style is a slick, fun tribute to Art Deco, something rarely seen in comics. The story of a hapless species of crab is an endearing look at one of natures cruel jokes, but made light by a humorous presentation with likable characters, reminiscent of films like Ice Age and Finding Nemo. WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT: For centuries, the square crab has only been able to move side-to-side in one direction. But some brave crabs decide its time for revolution! A few of the brave crustaceans in an estuary on the French coastline decide its time to try and actually turn for once, but what does their evolution revolution mean for the human race?

This humorous 3 volume graphic novel follows a species of crab that can only travel in one direction. We watch as they evolve and learn to turn!! They face discourse in their ranks and fight some enemies. Cute drawings. Loved the human characters too. I did feel some of the humor may have been lost in the translation though. Books 55, 62, 65 3⭐️

What? I haven‘t posted any books I‘ve finished in the last month?! Lord have mercy, must rectify this immediately! Mostly graphic novels, because life is hard these days and I like to look at art. My favorites here are Dead Letters and Paper Girls Vol. 2.

Suuuuch a cute graphic novel! 💕 you know it's going to be good when the book starts with two crabs playing an abandoned guitar on a beach. 📖

Today's very ambitious #TBRstack ! Have any of my fellow Litten read any of these?

As you can probably tell, I've been in quick the graphic novel kick lately. But once my 28 library loans are returned it's reading only from my personal collection until the end of the year. ☺️

What I just read😳😳😳😳😳???? Despite that the art is cute and there was a little humor, there is no message in the story. Ok, the crabs moved in other direction, and what??? Nothing big happened, no moral. I am really surprised that this comic maid to Volume 2.
