pickLoved the way it transported me into a time and place so different from where I am now, yet eerily similar to the one where I grew up. Brain no worky, attempting to repair with graphic novel
pickI did enjoy this cult Swedish graphic memoir, though the back of the book proclaims it to be a "hilarious and life-affirming memoir which will remind you that all you need in life is your best friends, a can of hairspray, and all three guitar chords." I truly agree with everything but the hilarious part. Know that going in and you will enjoy yourself!
Stopwatch stands at 6 hours 9 minutes. I have my work cut out for me!
At the beginning of the book it's 1982 & the girls discover The Clash. Then Coco's sister gets her this for Christmas and these punks literally start singing a different tune. This is definitely one of the funnier moments.
I intentionally planned to sandwich Citizen between two crazy books.
Book 6 is the cult fave I got in my very first Landfall Freight subscription (they do rad female-centric comics and graphic novels).
My clock stands at 5 hours 4 mins. I'll probably never make the 24 hour total but I'm catching up on my backlog and having a lot of fun doing it!
