I‘m a sucker for anything that‘s drops the F 💣. Appreciated her honesty about her life and how she purposely and authentically made changes to be happy. Anytime a book ends with a Paris story about buying a dream 👜, you just know it‘ll be great. And yes, I did by myself flowers- not lilies but sunflowers!

Learning to love and care for yourself can be a challenging journey. I watched my Mum deny herself the things she wanted because “someday” she would take the time to practice self-care. She was always busy taking care of others and put herself last. I wish she‘d been able to read this book. It is funny, insightful, and brutally honest. So, Today I‘m going to buy myself some “lilies,” whatever they may be! 🌸🌸 #AxeTheStacksApril

robinb I feel like a lot of moms were like this...I know mine is...she's now 82, and I often think about all that she's missed in her life because she put everyone else first. 3y
TheLudicReader My mom was the same, always doing for others and never herself. Always putting off vacations or things she might like to do. She died at 67and I always felt like she cheated herself, although she did love to do for and give to those she loved. 😞 3y
Come-read-with-me @robinb It‘s a generational enculturation that I hope we can change for future generations of women. 3y

Come-read-with-me @TheLudicReader I understand this completely. My Mum was the same way. Just as she was going to “start doing things for myself” she had a massive stroke and spent her remaining years bed ridden. I‘m trying to learn not to wait. 3y
ShelleyBooksie My mom is the same! I will have to get her this book! Does it have e a lot.of f- bombs in it? 3y
Come-read-with-me @ShelleyBooksie The f-word is popular, but the content is really good. If I could give this to my Mum I‘d probably need to find a way to strike through those words! 3y

iread2much I also hate how they drop nasty smelling petals. Good on the self care though! 3y
Megabooks I don‘t like the smell of lilies either. But they are gorgeous!! 3y
Come-read-with-me I really dislike how they smell, but they certainly make a statement. 3y

I really loved this one. The suggestions in this don‘t feel repetitive or like they‘ve been regurgitated from some other book the author read. It feels more natural and I really enjoyed how down to earth the writing felt. Was there anything particularly groundbreaking? Perhaps not. But I really enjoyed my time with this one. I think I‘m going to have to get my hands on a copy of this someday. #merryreaders #wintergames2020 @Clwojick
