I enjoyed this well written and well researched historical fiction book. Nora was a strong willed young lady, deeply loved by her parents and she was mentored well. In 1885, women worked diligently to prove themselves worthy of pursuing and obtaining college educations and careers. Nora‘s relationship with her beloved father led to an educational path of entomology. Nora and her father shared a fascination and appreciation of insects.

A Mosaic of Wings is a completely captivating novel! This book had so much beauty. There‘s beauty in the words, beauty in the setting, the characters. Everything is filled with beauty. Blended within the beauty, though, is sadness, inequality, assumptions and pain.

There‘s also hope. A lot of hope. And a lovely romance – one to root for!
