#WyrdAndWonder day 6 | fly my pretties

I firmly believe mythical beasties should be terrifying. Don‘t give me soft unicorns and pretty pegasus (pegasi?), those horns and wings are a deadly advantage on a creature who already has deadly hooves and good reach. Guy Gavriel Kay gets a prize for asking what‘s scarier than an enormous evil magical swan and replying with a fantasy creature you‘d die for if she didn‘t kill you first.

This is the final book in Guy Gavriel Kay's Fionavar Tapestry. The series, a mix of Arthurian legend and Tolkien-like fantasy, is not as good as some of GGK's later works, but the writing is beautiful and Simon Vance's narration of the audiobook is superb.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Uh this trilogy! There is something about this author‘s writing that just sucks me in and makes me feel things I cannot even describe. I loved this conclusion to the Fionavar Trilogy and really cannot wait to try another story by this author.

Chrissyreadit I read this in high school and it felt like my heart would be broken forever 3y
mollyrotondo @Chrissyreadit I know! He writes such heavy thoughts and dialogue between characters that it makes your heart ache but sort of feel fulfilled too at the same time. 3y
Chrissyreadit I agree about his writing ❤️ 3y
Therewillbebooks He's really good! I really enjoyed The Lions of Al-Rassan. 3y
mollyrotondo @Therewillbebooks I will add that one. Thank you! 3y

I think out of the entire trilogy I enjoyed this one the most. I still can‘t say I approve of the Aurthuian storyline but this installment has a lot of payoff for things subtly built in the first two. Solid ending which made me glad I stuck with it despite earlier misgivings.

#BookReport
Managed to finish both of my forecasted books and a bonus Scalzi this week. Was a little disappointed with Ctrl Alt Revolt but the Scalzi was great so it balanced out.
#WeeklyForecast
Up next is the final Fionavar Tapestry book followed by the next Cassandra Kresnov.

On to Book Three. A really good trilogy. Can't believe I've never read it before!
