Maybe it‘s because I have just read the novella as opposed to others in the series, but I wasn‘t a huge fan of this. I liked how it was split into 3 parts for Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day. But the MC spent most of the time worrying about dinner and how she wants an engagement ring, but won‘t be upset if she doesn‘t get an engagement ring. Maybe the rest of the series would be okay? But I don‘t think I will read them!

Having read a few holiday romances I realize I appreciate the tried & true narrative missing here. The most unlikeable main character spends an inordinate amount of time either getting drunk or making idiotic decisions or both. The first half of the book is about her attempts to make Christmas dinner, the second half bemoaning she didn‘t get an engagement ring. Ugh.
