A twelve-year-old girl and her younger brother are on the run in the Idaho woods, pursued by four men they have just watched commit murderfour men who know exactly who William and Annie are. And where their mother lives. Retired policemen from Los Angeles, the killers easily persuade the local sheriff to let them lead the search for the missing children. Now there's nowhere left for William and Annie to hide...and no one they can trust. Until they meet Jess Rawlins. Rawlins, an old-school rancher, knows trouble when he sees it. He is only one against four men who will stop at nothing to silence their witnesses. But in this thrilling mystery novel from C.J. Box, these ex-cops don't know just how far Rawlins will go to protect William and Annie...and see that justice is done. Blue Heaven is the winner of the 2009 Edgar Award for Best Novel.

Finally finished. I was down to the final hours on my hold. Just couldn‘t sink my teeth into this one. I think I‘m going to have to take a break from C.J. Box for a bit.

Started a new audio. This one is going a little slow but I think the narrator might have something to do with that.

tracey38 I've been enjoying audios more and more lately but the narrator can really make or break a book easily. 3mo

#bookhaul!
Technically, I didn't need more books.
But I've been working hard and felt like I deserved it. :D
Plus, I traded in some old books for store credit. 🖤

So I am filling in as a moderator for the mystery book discussion group at the library tonight for a sick coworker. I haven‘t read this or anything by this author. Any tips or interesting things I should know about this book before jumping into the discussion? 📖🤷🏻‍♀️

Beckys_Books Sorry, I have nothing for you. But, good luck! 2y

It isn't to early to use this cup is it? Morning are finally cool enough for hot tea. What's in my cup? London fog tea from the etsy shop that did the bath salts. It is called BeauTeaStudios. They make the best tea I have ever had. London fog is earl grey with vanilla and lavender, it tones down the dark flavor of black tea, and is great with the white honey spoon.

hermyknee Never too early! I already have out my Halloween decor! 2y
mcipher London fog lattes are the best! ❤️ 2y

I read Blue Heaven and found it to be a bit different. The way the characters interacted was interesting. The talking with those who had died was unusual in my mind. The story line kept me wondering in this "who done it " story.
