The Collector looks like some creepy fun and I love the cover. The cover for the classic CanLit Two Solitudes forced my hand and I'm always into a new Alison Moore. Death and the Seaside gives me The Lighthouse vibes - a book I really loved.
All brand new - another thing that brings me joy! The first one to crack open a library book.
pickA Pick with reservations. As a classic of Canlit it was interesting to read, but I wouldn't necessarily start with this one if you've never read MacLennan.
I'm reading The Novel of the Century, which talks about Les Misérables, and this part of the introduction made me think of Two Solitudes. Going by this description of Les Mis, I have to wonder whether MacLennan had this book in mind when he decided to name a particular character "Marius". ?

This is one of THE big books of Canlit, and by one of my favourite authors, so of course I haven't read this yet 😜
