As recommended, read through before attempting the work defined in this book. Since the 70s running injuries have increased to rates that other sports would deem unacceptable. The failure is assuming we know how to run, that everyone's individual method is A-OK. It's not. As with all activities, there is correct technique that must be followed to ensure safety and efficiency. This guide teaches you how to run correctly.

CampbellTaraL Check out runrx on Instagram (she's a coach and a former student of Dr. Romanov) -- her visuals are so, so helpful with understanding proper running technique. 3y
Readergrrl Thanks for suggesting this. I use to be an avid runner and then, well, life happened… I‘m getting back in shape but, since I‘m 52, I want to be extra careful with how I start. I always ran in minimalist shoes and cured my severe plantar fasciitis through foot strength training and relearning how to run without all the heavy cushioning and heel striking. It sounds like this book will be right up my alley! 3y
CampbellTaraL @Readergrrl oh yes, definitely! I am new to running, started about two years ago off and on after watching runrx, and I'm taking the plunge on minimalist shoes, waiting for my first pair's arrival. Hope you're able to get back up and running, literally, safe and soon. 3y
Readergrrl @taraWritesSci Any zero drop shoe will be great. Personally, Newtons have been my absolute favorite. I do need a little cushioning, but the zero drop is key. Altra is another good brand and Merrill is what I started with. Run on!!! 3y
CampbellTaraL @Readergrrl Sweet, thanks for the recs! Looking up Newtons now. 3y
