I love this book because it is very creative and there are so many activities that could go along with it. It is also very engaging as you can create actions and voices that go along with the story.

This story was always one of my favorites growing up because it let my imagination run wild. I used to think about what it was like for jack when he was up the beanstalk with the giants. I always wanted to see what a Giant looked like.

This TL, Jack and the Beanstalk, Juan y Los frijoles magicos, this book retells the classic story of Jack and the Beanstalk by providing it in Spanish and English. I truly love the fact that is bilingual. This will help ELL students understand the story but learn new vocabulary words. I think this book will be great in RT. It will allow students to participate even ELL without feeling left out or confused.

ztorres Great resources provide an entire lesson to use with ELL students. The only part I wish it was bilingual but that is something you can do to have it accessible for the whole class. 3y

Jack and the Beanstalk is a TL book and is written by Carol Ottolenghi and illustrated by Guy Porfirio. This book tells the story of a young boy name Jack who comes across mysterious magic beans. When they get planted into the ground, a huge beanstalk build sky high into the air. Jack decides to climb the beanstalk and finds a kingdom of giants at the top! Read to see what happens when Jack fearlessly faces these giants! #ucflae3414su20

JessicaO Below, I have linked different lesson plans that teachers can use to implement this book in the class. A great way to use this book is for a RA or S. This book is a classic and students love to see your interpretation of the story through props and other learning aids! The UDL principle that aligns is 3.1 to activate or supply background knowledge of the classic book! And ESOL strategy #2 to promote cooperation of the students to work together! (edited) 4y
DrSpalding There is so much to be learned from classic traditional literature. I agree that storytelling would be an option along with read aloud. Seeing the story come to life with props certainly helps comprehension. 4y

There have been so many fun adaptations of this story. I think that teachers could pick and choose what versions of the story fit their classroom needs while still having the charm of the original story.

This traditional story tells us about a boy named Jack. He is sent into town to sell a cow but he trades the cow for “magic beans.” His mom gets mad at him for giving away the cow, and she throws the seeds out the window. A giant bean stalk grows and Jack climbs it. Jack meets a giant who tries to kill him. This is a classic tale and I think that it‘s a story most children know and love. Great for the classroom!
