"There is no proof of God," I said, quoting father.
"There is KNOWING, and there is BELIEVING," said Elizabeth. "They are two different things. Knowing requires FACTS. Believing requires FAITH. If there were PROOF of God's existence, it wouldn't be a FAITH, would it."

1) Victor Frankenstein as an apprentice

2) Reading, it keeps me centered

3) I would probably go back to the 1920's and experience the birth of the Silent Era of film, and experience the flapper lifestyle!

this dark endeavor was a really good book. i really enjoyed some parts, where others were “ehh“ and i wanted to skip through it. the beginning had me on edge at first but i kept reading and i found that it was really good. my favorite character is konrad even though something tragic happened during the book it is a really good book and i would 9/10 recommend it to anyone if they like reading.
P.S read to the second or third chapter before deciding

Last night I wrote a blog post about enjoying my reading the most on rainy days (you can see it at www.reademandeatblog.wordpress.com !) and when I woke up this morning it was POURING! Does this mean that Mother Nature reads my blog?! Haha. Knocking down a library book today. The darkness of this book seems to perfectly mimics the ominous weather forecast.

I've read this first of this duology a couple of times and really enjoyed it. Yes, there is a lot of teen angst in this one but I still had fun with it all the same 🤷🏻‍♀️ Challenge 11 - #life #junebookbugs @RealLifeReading What fits life more than a retelling of Victor Frankenstein 😱Victor takes life into his own hands with shocking results

Amanda23 Really enjoyed this set. 7y

I LOVE Kenneth Oppel, so even though I really don't think this one was his best I still really enjoyed it.
I think if I was more familiar with the story of Frankenstein I would have enjoyed this more, because I kind of felt the whole time like I was missing things that were important.
It was still super enjoyable, and as always with Oppel, I really loved that there was an important female character even in a novel like this.
