"Life is full of crossroads, Alex. Full of choices." Returning for another year at Akarnae Academy with her gifted friends, Alexandra Jennings steps back through a doorway into Medora, the fantasy world full of impossibilities. Despite the magical wonder of Medora, Alex's life remains threatened by Aven Dalmarta, the banished prince from the Lost City of Meya who is out for her blood. To protect the Medorans from Aven's quest to reclaim his birthright, Alex and her friends seek out the ancient Meyarin city and what remains of its immortal race. Not sure who--or perhaps what--she is anymore, all Alex knows is that if she fails to keep Aven from reaching Meya, the lives of countless Medorans will be in danger. Can she protect them, or will all be lost? #EmbraceTheWonder

Well. I am a fan of Kaiden and that‘s all I really came here to say. These books rock. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A nice sequel. This is a slow, take-it-easy kind of story. Lots of small storylines going on at their own pace from book to book. There are micro hints of a maybe romance but mostly friendship. Very innocent. Definitely YA. I don't hate it! I enjoy it. It is easy. Not very many complaints! On to the next.

Follows on from Akarnae. Alex is from Earth but goes to school in parallel Medora. In bk 1 she went through a learning curve but now she‘s a bit of a Chosen one. In a school of gifted, she has superpowers. Fair enough, there‘s a reasonable explanation - but every good idea seems to come from her rather than more experienced students.
Fun & flippant all the same.

I have to say that the sequel is better than the first instalment of the series. The way the book is written is definitely less annoying to read. The storyline is great and more adventurous. There is a big cliffhanger at the end but it doesn't leave you unsatisfied. As a Harry Potter fan I especially loved the little reference in there. I'm very excited for the 3rd book.
