Finished this, after three months of reading, on this foggy morning. Very detailed and focuses on the military maneuvers and decisions and decision-makers of the Revolutionary War in America. Once the trilogy is complete (only this one, the first, is currently out), it‘ll be a good reference source. Recommend for those who already have an interest in the subject.

@ljuliel asks what‘s our favorite time period(s) for history, whether it‘s non-fiction or fiction. I ā¯¤ļø¸ History of all kinds, places, cultures! I go through cycles (that sometimes I return to). My current phase is the American Revolutionary War era (1770-1800). This is one of my current reads. Next year my focus may be very different. Generally I‘m fond of American history & British royalty (any era) & art history.

ValerieAndBooks @ljuliel there‘s a lot of details about battles and a lot of maps but he inserts interesting things often enough to keep it moving along! It‘s the first of an ā€anticipatedā€¯ trilogy and I don‘t know when the next one will be out. 4y

ljuliel Well, I might just have to pick up a copy I can see then, unless the audio comes with pdf files of some sort. It sounds good I like reading the details about the battles. I think this was just recently new wasn‘t it ? If so, we‘ll probably have a bit of a wait til the next one. 4y

MeganAnn I go through phases too! Once I get interested in a certain time/place I‘m on the lookout for everything I can read set there. 4y

Reeaally want Litsy to add something between pick and so-so. If you read this you will get facts I am pretty darn sure you didn‘t know about this war. Spoiler: Geo Washington can tell a lie. But it is not the most engaging read. Who am I to say that about a Pulitzer winner? But I did.
