Mehso-so

This is the 7th book in the Poppy McVie series. Poppy is a federal agent tasked with investigating crimes related to wildlife. This one was quick, at only 205 pages. I felt like it wrapped up too quickly. I would have preferred a little deeper foray into the plot. These books are quick, simple reads and this one was exactly that. If these books weren‘t offered as Kindle Unlimited, I don‘t think I‘d continue the series.

After a super long day, working from my dad‘s hospital room, running home to check on the kids and dog and then driving to dad‘s temporary home (in inpatient rehab while he gets stronger), only to have to wait for about an hour for his hospital transport, and then get him checked in and settled...I am finally home, have my pup in my lap (he missed his Mama) and am ready to read for a little bit before bed. But my kindle is dead. 😩

Texreader Oh that‘s so wrong after the day you had! I hope you get some rest instead 5y
Elizabeth2 @Texreader thanks! It really did seem unfair. 😉 A minor inconvenience, in the grand scheme. My pup moved after a few minutes and I was able to get my charger. 🙂❤️ 5y

My dad ended up back in the hospital, so I haven‘t read in two days. Feels like longer! My middle son‘s 17th bday is today; we‘ve completed our family celebration with birthday cake and now I‘m going to sit with this book until my eyes close. Might only take 3 minutes. #exhausted

GrilledCheeseSamurai That does sound exhausting. All my positive vibes to your dad. 5y
Elizabeth2 @GrilledCheeseSamurai thank you! He‘s headed to inpatient rehab where he will get daily PT and OT to build his strength back up, but it looks like he won‘t be going back to living independently again. Even with the extra help we‘ve been giving him, he can no longer take care of himself. 🙁 (edited) 5y
