The Love Song of Sawyer Bell | Avon Gale
7 posts | 2 read | 4 to read
This book has been previously published under the same title Dont miss this heartwarming and funny reunion romance from Avon Gale Indie rocker Victoria Vix Vincent knows a good thing when she hears it. The moment Sawyer Bell picks up her fiddle, magic happens. Beautiful and wildly talented, Sawyer is the perfect match for Vixs bandand, just maybe, for Vix. The dynamic in any group is a delicate thing, but with Sawyer and Vix thrown together on tour, its not long before the line between bandmates and lovers gets a bit blurry. The indie rock life is not what Sawyer ever saw for herself. She worked hard to get where she isin her second year of Julliard, with a bright future in classical music. But instead of spending her summer working and rehearsing, shes on tour with her secret high school crush. And even though it was only supposed to be temporary, Sawyer feels like shes finally found a place she belongs. This summer with Vix has been like a dream. But every tour must come to an end, and when Julliard comes calling, Sawyer will need to make a choice: continue on the path shes chosen, or take a leap of faith and follow her heart. One-click with confidence. This title is part of the Carina Press Romance Promise: all the romance youre looking for with an HEA/HFN. Its a promise! This book is approximately 63,000 words

All my favourite romances are rooted in friendships, and I feel like Avon Gale GETS that. While I do wish we‘d seen more of Vix and Sawyer‘s transition from strangers to pals, the bulk of their friendship/love affair is SO cute, and SO sweet, and SO full of banter that I‘ll overlook it.

Likewise, I got such a kick out of the mechanics of their North American tour by van (as opposed to fancy bus) and the joys (and perils) of following ⬇️

xicanti creative dreams, that I can live with fewer of the vicarious performance highs I usually crave from rock star romance. This is good stuff, and I‘ll look forward to Gale‘s next book. 5y

I made sausages purely as a conduit for this fancy German mustard. It‘s got figs in it, friends! Figs!

I‘m now in the homestretch with THE LOVE SONG OF SAWYER BELL. Barring catastrophe, I‘ll finish it before I head off for my evening walk.

Megabooks Cool!! I love figs!! 5y

Apparently hanging out in cars is my thing now. It was raining pretty hard when I got to the garden centre and I wanted to look at the plants they had outside, so I sat and read my book until the weather shifted.

I‘m way more into the relationship in this one than I was this morning. Sawyer and Vix‘s friendship is super cute now it‘s underway. Plus, they make music and sexy times together! Hurray!

Then I had coffee and a fancy French cookie. I‘m mostly avoiding refined sugar right now, but I made an exception for this because it‘s perishable and my mum brought it all the way from Paris just for meeeeeee.

I like this book so far, but I‘ve got a couple reservations. Most importantly, I feel like Gale‘s TOLD me Vix and Sawyer are now friends instead of letting me see that unfold. Hopefully the bulk of their relationship will make up for that.

Well, look at that. My tea put me in the mood for my very last Queer Beer. I sure hope I can snag another case next year so I can make Queer Beer + queer books a June tradition.

I still haven‘t fully sunk into this book, but it‘s giving me all sorts of FEELS about the fiddle. I always wanted to play, for which we may blame Gus Pike, but I‘ve only had a violin in hand once. Someday, friends. Someday.

I planned to break in my new reading nook with a Queer Beer because I absolutely earned one, but it‘s rainy and cold so I went with poorly-lit tea instead. I‘m hoping to sink into this f/f musical romance tonight!
