A pleasing tale of a young boy who leaves his village to live with his uncle in a large town. Obsessed with crossing the Niger River in a boat, he encounters all kinds of people & temptations, & embarks on an adventure when he finally crossed the river. Achebe is a great storyteller & writes beautifully. He tells a good story about life in an African country but lessons learnt are universal and morals conveyed are timeless.💛ing the illustrations.
