I found it easy and fun to read. Kept my interest without an annoying lull in the middle like some novels. My heart leapt and sank with the characters‘, which is always an accomplishment as an author. Would recommend. This would be a fine YA read.

The title to this story is exciting & sexy, but the novel is not. The build up to the relationship was rushed, the twist was predictable and the language was far too poetic to be believable words from every character‘s mouth. The story picked up speed somewhere in the middle but completely fell apart again in the end due to extreme behavior that the other characters completely dismissed. This is an alarming novel for YA, and don‘t recommend it.

This book has been one of my favorites for a long time. RA Nelson‘s writing is immersive, as are his characters. Nine is different than the typical YA heroine. She‘s tall and awkward and academically intelligent, which is why seeing her life unravel is so interesting to me. She bonds with her teacher, and her life and psyche sort of explodes from there. Fast, but good read.
